On Sunday 1 March 2020, the annual Memorial Service was held at the SS Mendi Memorial at the University of Cape Town’s lower campus.

Capt John Manning laid a wreath of behalf of the Officer Commanding Chief Langalibalele Rifles (previously Cape Town Rifles [Dukes]). The Guest of Honour was the Executive Deputy Mayor of Cape Town, Alderman Ian Nielson.
