On 18 and 19 November 2011, as the sun sank low in the clear blue summer skies above Cape Town, the venerable old Castle of Good Hope opened its gates to a stream of visitors from near and far. They arrived, heavily laden with picnic blankets, folding chairs, baskets and cooler boxes, and made themselves comfortable on the green lawns in the front courtyard, to wait in eager anticipation for the start of the evening’s entertainment: a military sunset concert!
